Faith Over Frustration: How to Stay Motivated When Progress Feels Slow

Let’s be honest, friend — some weeks, this journey feels hard. You’ve been showing up, eating better, moving your body, and trying to keep it all together. And yet… the scale won’t budge, the energy still dips, or the jeans don’t fit the way you thought they would by now.
If that’s where you are today, I want you to pause, take a deep breath, and hear this:
You are not failing. You are in process. And God isn’t done with you.

⸻
The Silent Struggle of Slow Progress
As a coach, I see it all the time — incredible women pushing themselves forward but feeling discouraged because the results aren’t instant. We live in a fast-paced world that promises quick fixes and instant transformations. But the truth is: lasting change takes time. And real transformation, the kind that shapes not just your body but your mind and spirit, is never overnight.
You are not alone in this struggle. And more importantly—you’re not stuck. 🌱
⸻
God’s Timing Is Always Right
Scripture reminds us in Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Let that sink in for a moment.
There is a harvest waiting for you. But it comes in God’s perfect time, not ours. You don’t have to hustle harder or beat yourself up to earn it. You just have to keep going. Keep planting seeds of faith, of discipline, of self-care — and trust that they will grow.
⸻
Progress Is More Than Pounds
Sometimes we miss the miracle because we’re only measuring the number on the scale. But progress is so much more than that:
• Did you get up and move your body today, even when you didn’t feel like it?
• Did you choose nourishing food instead of emotional eating?
• Are you sleeping better, feeling stronger, or simply showing up with more confidence?
Those are wins. Celebrate them.
Tracking non-scale victories can be one of the most encouraging tools on your journey. Grab a journal or notes app and start writing them down weekly — you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come.
⸻
What to Do When Motivation Dips
Here are some simple ways to refocus your motivation when you feel like quitting:
1. Pray First. Ask God to strengthen you in your weakness. Invite Him into your wellness journey.
2. Set Micro Goals. Focus on the next right step — a workout, a walk, a protein-packed meal.
3. Change the Channel. Shift your thoughts from “I’m not enough” to “I’m making progress.”
4. Rest Well. Don’t underestimate the power of good sleep and Sabbath-style rest.
5. Lean into Community. Reach out to your coach (hi, that’s me!), post in your group, or share with a trusted friend. You’re never meant to do this alone.
⸻
You’re Stronger Than You Think
Friend, the enemy would love to see you give up. But God has equipped you for endurance, not just excitement. You were made to press on—not in your own strength, but in His.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us:
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…”
So don’t quit now. The good work is already happening. You’re being shaped, refined, and strengthened one decision at a time.
⸻
Let’s Finish Strong Together
As you head into this Wellness Journey, I want to challenge you to stay intentional. Make choices that align with your goals, not just your cravings or emotions. Give yourself grace when it gets hard—but don’t lose sight of where you’re going.
